Pro Surface Works

About Pro Surface Works

Pro Surface Works is a Singapore-based floor and marble restoration company, founded in 2016. The company works with an in-house team, from the first site assessment through to the completed job, across HDB flats, condominiums, landed homes, and commercial spaces islandwide.

Rather than treating every floor the same way, the team looks at what's actually causing the damage or dullness before deciding on the right service, whether that's polishing, restoration, regrouting, or a full refinish.

STORY

Our Story

Tanvir Rahman is an electrical engineer who moved into business ownership. He first established Luminous Engineering Pte Ltd in 2015, and about a year later founded Pro Surface Works in 2016 as a sole proprietorship, moving into floor, marble, and surface restoration work.

Pro Surface Works has been operating since 2016. The company grew from a small operation into an in-house team of 25 to 30 technicians, serving residential and commercial clients across Singapore without subcontracting the work out.

THE FOUNDER

Meet Tanvir Rahman

Tanvir Rahman is the founder and Managing Director of Pro Surface Works. He has 12 years of experience in the industry, and his background as an electrical engineer carries into how the company approaches its work.

Assessing a floor problem, in his view, starts with identifying the underlying cause, such as moisture ingress, grout failure, or a worn protective coating, rather than only treating the visible symptom. That approach shapes how the in-house team is trained to assess jobs before recommending polishing, restoration, repair, or replacement.

OUR PEOPLE

Our In-House Team

Pro Surface Works runs with an in-house team of 25 to 30 technicians. The work is not subcontracted out, so the technician who carries out the site assessment is typically involved in the job itself, from the initial visit through to completion.

Keeping the team in-house is also how the company keeps its process and equipment consistent from one job to the next, rather than depending on outside crews with their own methods and tools.

OUR APPROACH

How We Approach Each Project

The same six steps apply whether the job is a single room or a full commercial floor.

  • 1. Assess the actual condition of the surface, not just how it looks on top.
  • 2. Identify the underlying issue, such as moisture, wear, or material failure.
  • 3. Decide whether polishing, restoration, repair, or replacement is the appropriate response.
  • 4. Select equipment and materials suited to that specific surface and problem.
  • 5. Carry out the work with the in-house team, start to finish.
  • 6. Review the finished result against what was agreed at the quote stage.
HOW WE WORK

Experience, Equipment & Materials

The equipment and materials used on a job are matched to what that specific surface needs, not applied as one fixed process for every floor. Klindex machines are used for deep stone restoration and high-gloss planetary polishing on marble and stone floors, and a Lägler Hummel 8-inch sander is used for parquet sanding work.

Grout and sealant work is carried out with Mapei and Sika products, and Pereseal or Soudal sealants, depending on the job. Parquet varnishing uses Ronseal or Nippon finishes, depending on the required finish.

IN PRACTICE

Experience That Shows in the Work

Dull and damaged are treated differently: restoration work only begins once the actual cause, whether it's wear, etching, or structural damage, has been identified.

The same surface type isn't always the same job: equipment and materials are chosen per job rather than applying a single fixed process to every floor.

Restoration isn't assumed to always be possible: where the damage is extensive, replacement may be the more practical recommendation, confirmed on-site rather than in a general quote.
